Frequently Asked Questions

Have you got a question, but no time to wait on the phone for an answer? Or maybe you're just a little too embarrased to ask. (We know there are a few of you out there that still wonder why we keep asking you for your font file.)
Below is a compilation of some of our FAQs, as well as a few we just had to include for fun. All you have to do is click on the question.

  1. How do I use OnTime Proof?
  2. How long does it take for you to complete my order?
  3. What is a "proof"?
  4. Why do I need to look at a proof if I've already given you everything I need to have done?
  5. Do I still need to approve a proof if I bring my work in on disk or transfer it to you online?
  6. How do I go about getting an estimate from you?

  1. How do I use OnTime Proof?OnTime Proof (OTP) is a quick, convenient way for you to approve your proof online. The only thing you need to do to access this system is to provide your email address on your Request An Estimate or Place An Order form. Once we've processed your project, our system will automatically send you an email letting you know your project is ready to proof. There is a link in the email which will bring you directly to OTP. Log in and your project will come up on screen. You may click approve or make changes. Of course if you're having difficulty, call us at 1-800-513-8776 (216-696-6677 in Cleveland, OH) and we'll walk you through the process. If you decide you need to see a hard copy, call us and we'll be glad to send one to you.

  2. How long does it take for you to complete my order?
There really isn't a short answer to this question. Some jobs can be produced in minutes and some jobs may take days. If you are a client who uses our warehousing facilities, you may receive your order within two days. Include your deadline date on your Request For An Estimate. We go to great lengths to meet your tight deadlines. If we think it will be close, we'll let you know upfront. Most deadlines can be met. We're used to making miracles happen for our clients.

  3. What is a "proof"?
A proof is the best way of ensuring that what we are about to print is exactly what you wanted. You should check your document for accuracy, watching for text reflow, font changes, and positioning. Typically, we will produce a proof, then send you an email notifying you that your OnTimeProof is ready to be approved. (See How do I use OTP? below). Of course you may still approve a hard copy proof, if you prefer. Just let us know and we'll output a copy from our HP5000 printer. You can proof hard copy outputs in person, over the phone, or by fax.

  4. Why do I need to look at a proof if I've already given you everything I need to have done?
Every project we complete gets a little (or a lot) of the human touch. Usually, that's a good thing. Sometimes, the morning coffee isn't quite strong enough and we make a mistake. It's rare, but it happens. Your approval on the final proof is assurance that you have looked over every aspect of our work and approve it as accurate. It benefits everyone if errors are caught in the proofing process rather than after the job is completed and delivered.

  5. Do I still need to approve a proof if I bring my work in on disk or transfer it to you online?
Yes. It may seem like a proof wouldn't be needed in this case but it really is. Output devices and some browsers process digital information using a variety of processing languages. Your approval of the proof which we will provide assures that the output device used has correctly interpreted and processed the information you have provided.

  6. How do I go about getting an estimate from you?
Well, since you are online, we suggest you use our online estimate request form. (Go to Request An Estimate in the site map at the bottom of the page.) Otherwise, the best way to ensure that we get all the information necessary to give you an accurate quote is to call us at 1-800-513-8776 and speak with one of our customer service representatives.
